IELTS

A learning plan specific to your needs

If you want to study, migrate or work in an English-speaking country, you may need to take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) in order to demonstrate your English level of proficiency in writing, speaking, reading, and listening. The exam uses a nine-band score to identify levels from complete beginner (band score 1) to an expert user in English (band score 9). Everybody takes the same test and your band score is determined by how well you perform in the exam.

There are two types of IELTS exam: Academic and general. If you want to study at an educational establishment or work in particular fields, such as medicine, the Academic test is suitable for you. If you would like to migrate to countries, such as the UK or Australia, for other reasons, the General Training might be more appropriate to your needs.

Following an initial assessment and needs analysis, as an experienced teacher in IELTS, I can identify which test you need to take and in which areas you need to work on in order to achieve the band score required by your educational establishment of choice or border agencies. Some students already feel confident in speaking, listening, and reading and only need to focus on academic writing. Others need to build on their skills in all areas. Therefore, I will create a learning plan specific to your needs. This will usually consist of a combination of exam practice, and improving your general knowledge and understanding of the four skills, as well as grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation and discourse.
